Melbourne based author of fantasy, historical fiction and sci-fi novels. I grew up on a picturesque farm, in a valley, where a river met the bay. It was my Shire, within the chaos of Middle- earth. This setting inspired a longing to discover new worlds; in reality, in books and inside my imagination. I am a mad scientist, or perhaps just an angry one. As a chemist, I have worked with death rays (irradiators for cancer research), mutants and Frankenstein-ish creatures (GMO technology). Nothing in this industry is quite as insane as the cliché mad scientist constructions in the cartoons I fell in love with as a child. Or as wild as the sci-fi worlds in my head. Read more.
